| 1) | HOW TO ENTER: The HSBC Simply Green Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins at 12:01 AM (ET) on September 1, 2008 and ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on November 17, 2008 ("Promotion Period"). Winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received.

| a. | During the Promotion Period you may earn one (1) entry for each of your Eligible HSBC Credit Card Accounts, defined below (except Menards and Boscov's retail cardholders), that you register for online access. To register your account(s) for online access, log on to the HSBC specific website associated with each account and follow the instructions provided. Eligible cardholders (defined below) who have registered for online access prior to the Promotion Period will automatically receive one (1) entry. A maximum of one (1) entry per Eligible HSBC Credit Card Account may be earned for registering for online access. | ||
| b. | During the Promotion Period you may earn two (2) entries for each of your Eligible HSBC Credit Card Accounts, defined below (except for Menards and Boscov's cardholders), on which you elect to receive paperless statements. To elect to receive paperless statements on your account(s), access your HSBC account online at the HSBC specific website associated with each account and follow the instructions provided. Eligible cardholders (defined below) who have elected to receive paperless statements prior to the Promotion Period will automatically earn two (2) entries. You must continue to elect to receive paperless statements through the Promotion Period to earn entries for paperless statements. A maximum of two (2) entries per Eligible HSBC Credit Card Account may be earned for electing paperless statements. | ||
An "Eligible HSBC Credit Card Account" for the purposes of the Sweepstakes means an HSBC Credit Card Account with features including online access capabilities at one of the following websites: An "Eligible Cardholder" for the purposes of the sweepstakes means a cardholder / cardmember who is contractually liable for the HSBC credit card account. Alternative Mail-in Method. You may earn one (1) entry by hand printing your name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number and email address (if any) on a 31/2"x5" piece of paper, inserting it into an envelope, affixing postage and mailing to: The HSBC Simply Green Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 4076, Grand Rapids, MN 55730-4076. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by November 17, 2008 and received by November 24, 2008 to be eligible in the Sweepstakes. The maximum number of eligible Sweepstakes entries you may earn is twenty five (25) per person and may be obtained by any combination of available entry methods described in these rules. Certain restrictions may apply with online entry methods. Transactions not described above do not qualify for entry. Incomplete entries are void. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned. This information (entries) will be used only by Sponsors and affiliate Companies; it will not be shared with other parties. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner, such entry will be deemed to be submitted by the primary cardholder / cardmember of the Sponsor credit card account in question. |

| 2) | WINNER SELECTION: A random drawing will be held on or about November 25, 2008 from among all eligible entries received and/or postmarked for the purposes of mail-in entry through the end of the Promotion Period. The random drawing will be conducted under the supervision of SHC Direct, L.L.C. ("Sweepstakes Administrator"), whose decisions are final on matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning a Sweepstakes prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. | ||

| 3) | WHO CAN ENTER: This Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia 18 years of age or older (19 years or older in Alabama / Nebraska) at the time of entry. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Employees of Sponsors, its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies contributing to this Sweepstakes and the immediate family members (parents, spouse, siblings, children) or anyone who lives in the same household of each (whether related or not) are not eligible. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sweepstakes Administrator, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Sweepstakes. Sponsors reserve the right to verify eligibility qualifications of winners. | ||

| 4) | PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded: A 2008 Saturn AURA Hybrid automobile. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the Grand Prize: $25,000. Two (2) Second Prizes will be awarded: Energy Efficient Appliances from Best Buy, selected in consultation with winner but in Sponsors' sole discretion, and may be awarded via gift card (subject to gift card terms) in Sponsors' sole discretion. ARV of a Second Prize: $10,000. Five (5) Third Prizes will be awarded: $1,000 cash, awarded as a check. Total ARV of all prizes: $50,000.
Automobile options are at Sponsors' sole discretion. All additional car options will be the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner. Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for any and all car title, license and registration fees, emissions inspection, equipment, insurance, gasoline, vehicle maintenance and all other fees and expenses associated with the receipt and use of the Grand Prize. Winner must provide proof of valid insurance and a valid driver's license to take delivery and must take delivery at an authorized dealership designated by Sponsors. Any expenses not explicitly listed herein, including any and all applicable taxes relating to a Sweepstakes prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes valued at $600 or more will be reported on an IRS Form 1099-MISC (Miscellaneous Income). For tax purposes, prize winners will be required to provide their taxpayer identification numbers on a completed IRS Form W-9 (included in the prize winner-notification package). Prizes will be awarded/winners notified by U.S. mail. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize or portion thereof with one of equal or greater value if entire prize or a portion of a prize is unavailable. No barter, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsors at its sole discretion. Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash. Specifics of prizes are subject to availability and Sponsors' sole discretion. All guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim. Limit one (1) prize per person. |

| 5) | GENERAL CONDITIONS: The laws of the United States govern this Sweepstakes. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors and Sweepstakes Administrator, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein in a timely manner. Winners may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and, where allowed by law, Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days following the date of issuance of notification. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsors and its designees to use winner's name, voice, and picture and other likeness for advertising, promotional and other purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. No more than the quantity of prizes listed in these rules will be awarded. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Sponsors and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers (including General Motors, Best Buy Stores, L.P. and their respective affiliates), advertising and promotion agencies and employees and agents of each (collectively 'Releasees') from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize won. Releasees are not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Sweepstakes-related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate entries or mail, or for entries that are lost, misdirected, fail to enter into the processing system, or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer, human or other error; or for electronic, computer, or telephonic malfunction or error, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes, or inability to access any web site associated with this promotion, or process any action thereon | ||

| 6) | INTERNET: Sponsors are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this game or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this promotion. If, in the Sweepstakes Administrator's opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the game, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the promotion, the Sweepstakes Administrator reserves the right to terminate the game and conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date of termination. Use of automated entry devices or programs is prohibited. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. | ||

| 7) | WINNER’S LIST: To receive the name of the winners, available after December 30, 2008, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to: HSBC Simply Green Sweepstakes Winners, P.O. Box 701, Sayreville, NJ 08871-0701. Requests received after January 30, 2009 will be disregarded. Residents of VT may omit return postage. | ||
